PLEASE BE INFORMED THAT ONLY FOR BOOKINGS MADE AT STAND-ALONE CHALET AND WATER BUNGALOW WITH 6  NIGHTS STAY WILL BE GUARANTEED 1 DAY DIVING AT SIPADAN ISLAND.Please be informed that all daily entry to dive or visit Sipadan Island will be subject to approval by the Sabah Parks Management, which is in control of issuing the entry permit. The total number of divers or visitors allowed to visit Sipadan Island is restricted to 120 pax per day.                                                                                                                                Our resort has been given 14 quotas each day out of the 120 pax. Due to this limited quotas, our sales office in Kota Kinabalu under Explore Asia Tours Sdn Bhd will arrange only for divers who stay 6 nights at stand-alone chalets and water bungalows to have 1 day diving at Sipadan Island.  Please note there is no first come first serve basis.The fee for Entry Permit to Sipadan Island is RM 40.00 per person per day for divers, non-divers, visitors and children.  This entry permit fee has to be paid on the spot, in the resort.As for guests who are staying at standard chalet based on our NON-SIPADAN PACKAGE, the permit for diving at Sipadan is NOT GUARANTEE.Or you have the option to buy permit and diving from other resorts based on the market price.  This is subject to availability.  For further informations, please refer to our Notice as attached.We will not held responsible for not being able to provide diving at Sipadan due to the conservation measures by the Government.However, should the entry permit to Sipadan Island is not been approved, we can offer alternative diving at nearby islands such as Si Amil, Kapalai, Mabul, Mataking & Ligitan where there is no restrictions on these islands.

SIPADAN ENTRY PERMIT

As you may be aware, anyone planning to visit Sipadan Island requires an approved entry permit issued by Sabah Parks, a government agency of Sabah Government. Daily total entry quota is 120 permits per day. All permit application will be handled and process by our Associate Company, Explore Asia Tours Sdn Bhd., based in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia.
We feel that this is a wise move by the Malaysian Government in order to minimize the stress to the reefs and marine life at Sipadan Island. Unfortunately, this also means that we may not be able to send all our guests to Sipadan Island every day.

Currently, the 120 permits are allocated to ten (10) dive operators and they are located in and around Semporna area. Our Resort has been allocated 14 permits per day. Based on this allocated quota, we are able to offer you with certainty, a visit to Sipadan island at least once if your duration of stay is at least 7 days/6 nights.
Our Resort is now offering a “NON SIPADAN DIVING” (diving in Mabul, Kapalai and Si Amir islands). So, when doing your bookings make sure that you ask for the correct Package. Resort guests who wishes to dive far away islands like Pom Pom, Mataking or Tun Sakaran Marine Parks islands excursion dive tours will need to direct your enquiry to our Explore Asia Tours, Sales Office or check with our Resort Manager on arrival to the Resort. An additional fee will be charged for outer islands excursion dive tours.

MARKET QUOTA PURCHASING OPTIONIf our Resort guests wishes to do more diving in Sipadan Island, he or she can enquire through our Sales Office at Explore Asia Tours Sdn Bhd., OR on arrival in the resort, can approach our Resort Manager for assistance to buy “Sipadan diving service and entry permits Package” from other dive operators (NO GUARANTEE).

Currently, the cost of such Package from another dive operator, the indicative market price is MYR 550 per diver per day including 1 day entry permit fee. The permit will entitle you to 3 boat dives at Sipadan Island. It is advisable to enquire well in advance and subject to availabilities.

Accommodation is made from native materials of Borneo on Twin Share Basis, unless the Single Supplement is paid. The accommodations are categorized into standard – semi-detached (built up size 14X12ft), standalone chalet – detached (built up size 19X16ft), and suite chalet (built up size 28X23ft).

Sipadan-Mabul Resort comprises of 22 stand alone chalets (mostly twin-bedded) and 1 suite chalet, which could accommodate 46 guests at any one time. All the chalets are built with mosquito screens have attached toilet/bathroom with hot shower facilities and the comfort of air-conditioning, which are available for 24 hours.

Electrical outlet is 220 Volt AC, 50 cycles using three rectangular prongs similar to British plugs. Electricity power supply 24 hours a day.

A vinyl swimming pool measuring 41-ft X 21 ft with a 6-ft deep end. A 4-6 persons Jacuzzi Whirlpool Spas. A large dining hall/bar area is used for meals, socializing, dancing and staff shows. Coconut drink, juices, carbonated soft drinks, beer and wine can be purchased at the resort bar and jetty bar. A small sundry shop sells a range of T-shirts, batteries, toiletries, souvenirs and etc.

An office takes care of the registration and billing; it is equipped with a Telephone/Fax for communications with the mainland. Broadband stick for Internet Access is available for rent at the resort.

A Technical Diving Center (SMART-Tec) offers various services such as Nitrox Air and Certification Courses. An underwater video center (Treasure Images) provides u/w videography courses and services as well as rental of Digital Camera.
